Courgettes marinated in orange with toasted pine nuts were incredible! 🥒 🍊

I am absolutely loving working in my new kitchen. I wanted to post about this weeks ago, but I hit the ground running, making up for lost time!

I could never imagine the space we had could be as amazing as it is now. Had a couple of walls knocked out and caused all sorts of problems along the way - but now, heaven. If I had a penny for everyone who said it would all be worth it in the end, turns out they were correct!

I am from an island that’s big on Terrazzo, so having an island covered in it was the ultimate dream. We went to @hogwoodhouse , on a whim, after being stuck behind one of their vans in traffic. We reeled off a list of things we wanted and needed to Joely, and her eyes lit up. She saw possibility in what we thought of as just a fantasy.

20 years of working in kitchens now, practical was always a must, usually quite a masculine environment, but pretty? Surely not. Spending endless hours in a space, why not make it somewhere beautiful? Take it a step further, why not throw some pink in there for good measure!

@northdowncarpets took our incredibly uneven foundation and smoothed it out, nothing was impossible. They transformed our downstairs from very different spaces into one, connected area. Easy to work with, and they don’t leave until it’s perfect. Having them just round the corner was so helpful too!

@jodiespainting is a perfectionist. Working with so many tradespeople over the months, having someone show up when they say they will is enough to make me shout about them. She is much more than that though 🤍

It’s been tight, and pricier as the weeks went on, but we got there in the end. Thank you for flooding me with bookings to pay for it all - I missed my job!! ❤️

We walked through beautiful gardens, and huge doors with large, golden door knockers, until we came to this outhouse. As we walked in, I got goosebumps. Very hard to describe the feeling you get in here.
